about us
tennie is on a mission to become the one-stop-shop for all your professional clothing needs.
we believe that the right outfit can give you the extra inch of confidence you need to reach all your goals, and we are committed to helping you look and feel your best as you navigate your career. we aim to simplify the process of finding workwear that fits both professional aspirations and personal style by providing quality, stylish, and professional clothing.
workwear can be confusing. what even is business casual, right? because finding clothes to wear to work is so nuanced - and often stressful - we aim to provide personalized, curated recommendations that fit you. no more scrolling aimlessly through "wear to work" sections. no more trying on clothes at the mall that were designed for women your mom's age. just an easy, fun shopping experience designed specifically for you.
why tennie?

so glad you asked!
tennie claflin was a force to be reckoned with - a suffragist, businesswoman, and unapologetic advocate for social justice. in 1870, half a century before women even had the right to vote, tennie and her sister became the first women to open a brokerage firm on wall street, fighting for equality not just in politics but in the workplace. she didn’t just talk about change - she lived it.
at tennie, we want to carry her spirit into the modern workplace. to us, tennie represents confidence, ambition, and showing up fully as yourself. that’s exactly what we believe getting dressed for work should feel like. our company is named in her honor not just because she was first, but because she was fearless.
and yes, that is a taylor swift reference.

bailey ehrens
founder of tennie
bailey is a first-year mba student at yale school of management. after 5 years of working in investment banking and m&a, she decided to get her mba to turn her dream of starting a professional clothing platform into a reality.
from her own experiences navigating male-dominated workplaces, bailey saw firsthand how hard it can be to find clothes that feel both powerful and like you. she started tennie to change that.
tennie is about more than clothes for bailey (though she really really loves the clothes!) - it's about helping the next generation of women break down antiquated barriers and accomplish their wildest dreams.
and yes, that is another taylor swift reference.
