Dressing for work can be tough. I remember the days when I would just stare into my closet for what felt like forever, hoping I could somehow summon the right outfit to wear to the office that day. On occasion, I would even ask my boyfriend to pick a color and then try to make an outfit around it.

And on the days when I truly couldn’t think of what to wear, I relied on some tried-and-true workwear uniforms. These are outfit pairings that I know I like and will make me feel comfortable throughout my day, even on the days when inspiration isn’t striking.

Here are a few options for you to steal:

straight jeans + t-shirt + blazer/vest + kitten heel: I really like the balance of this outfit. There are so many interesting contrasts: the feminine shoes with the masculine fit of the blazer, the professional blazer with the casual t-shirt, the proportions of the slimmer jeans vs. the bigger blazer/vest and t-shirt. It just works, trust me.

flowy skirt + tank + light layer + sneaker: One thing I love about this look is that you can usually create it with items you already have in your closet but maybe don’t think about for work. That’s called getting more value per item – which we love!
